Stephen has a side gig printing 3D objects. Here are a few that he made that were pretty cool.
- Kreg Saw Guide Sled Insert 1
-
Description:
I have a Kreg saw guide that comes with a sled that clamps to my circular saw. The sled comes with a small insert that can be set for a completely flat saw plate, or it can be flipped to support a saw with a slight up bend. The insert did not have enough support for my saw so I asked Stephen to 3D print a new one that had a slightly higher angle. It was an almost exact copy (with a slight change in pitch) that fit like a glove. I requested the pink color. Its the only pink thing in my shop. (11/9/2021)
- Kreg Saw Guide Sled Insert 2
-
Description:
Here is a before and after shot of the saw installed into the sled. The guide worked with the insert that came with the guide but I had to be careful to not put too much pressure on the back. With the new insert in place the sled fits perfectly (there is a slight secondary bend in the plate but not enough t interfere with operation) (11/9/2021)
- Garden Gnome
-
Description:
Stephen's Aunt Colleen asked if Stephen can create some garden gnomes from the Alien movies to give as a gift to a friend. (10/13/2021)
- Replacement Cap
-
Description:
The 3D printer can serve a utilitarian roll as well as artistic. Here a threaded cap for Stephen's tablet mount broke so he just created a new one. He measured the broken one with calipers and drew it up in cad. It took a couple of tries to get the threading right but it works perfectly. (06/25/21)
He did that same for the radio knob in Gina's car, but with glow-in-the-dark filament .
- Round Iris Box
-
Description:
This is a box Stephen created for me as for Christmas in 2020. The iris lid opens up when you twist the round shroud (12/2020)
- Utility Box
-
Description:
This is a roll-top utility box Stephen made for me for Father's Day in 2021. The roll-top automatically opens when you pull the drawer open. (6/2021)
